FACULTY OF ENGINEERING UNIB SERVICES ON MACHINE ASSEMBLY AND PRODUCTION OF FISH AND POULTRY FEED

Kaur, BE- Pilot Project of the Social Collaborative Community Building Program (Kosabangsa) in 2022 organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture, with the aim of providing opportunities for superior accredited universities to provide assistance to excellent accredited universities, to apply the results of superior research universities in accordance with the urgency of community needs, and provide solutions to partner problems with a holistic approach based on multidisciplinary research. This year Bengkulu University (UNIB) with assistance from the University of Lampung with the co-chair of Dr. Ir. Sri Ratna Sulistiyanti, M.T and co-member Dr. Dyah Indriana Kusumastuti, S.T., M.Sc., University of Bengkulu (UNIB) won a grant from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Rp. 300,000,000 with a mono-year (1 year) Kosabangsa scheme, represented by the Implementing Team from the UNIB Faculty of Engineering, which chaired by Dr. Ir. Khairul Amri, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., from the Civil Engineering Study Program, FT UNIB, whose members include Dr. Hendri Hestiawan, ST., MM., MT. from the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, FT UNIB, Yanolanda Suzanty H. ST., M.Eng., from the Electrical Engineering Study Program, FT UNIB and Dr. Hardiansyah. ST., MT. From Civil Engineering Study Program, FT UNIB. The DUDI partner of the Kosabangsa Program is the Department of Agriculture of the Kaur Regency with the target partner being the BUMDES fish and poultry group in Selika 2 Village, Tanjung Kemuning District, Kaur Regency.

The activity of the Kosabangsa program for the application of industrial technology. Pellet making is carried out in the following stages: Consolidation with partners by mobilizing all resources involved in the implementation team and companions together with partners in preparing equipment and equipment to be used at the site. Partners have provided land in Selika II Village, Tanjung Kemuning District, Kaur Regency as a place for animal feed pellet production machines to be made and used for planting animal feed pellet raw materials. Second, Assembling the pellet feed industry with a production capacity of 80 kg/hour which consists of purchasing components for the animal feed industry, consisting of a fish/gold snail grinding machine, a corn flour machine, a mixer for pellet feed raw materials, a feed pellet printing machine (12), and PLTS hybrid. The solar power plant assembly is made with specifications of 2.7 kW, 1 phase and a voltage of 220 V L-N. Animal feed pellet production machine assembly. The first stage is to put the machine on the foundation that has been made so as not to experience vibration. The second stage is to make a control panel to control the operation of the animal feed production machine. This activity was assisted by students as field officers and management partners of BUMDES Selika 2 Village, Tanjung Kemuning District, Kaur Regency.

The third stage is the operation of the animal feed production machine which consists of testing the production machine. The trials carried out were no-load trials, machine production capabilities trials, machine reliability and control trials and electrical tests. Conducted by the entire implementation team, students and management partners of BUMDES Selika 2 Village, Tanjung Kemuning District, Kaur Regency. Make the composition and percentage of feed raw materials to be produced. Blinding of animal feed pellets, fish feed and poultry feed with a protein content of 30% for fish feed and 24% protein for poultry feed. The local raw materials that will be used to make fish feed per 100 kg are 30 kg gold snails, 28 kg fine bran, corn flour (1,3,13) 10 kg, cassava flour 20 kg and vitamins 12 kg. The raw materials for making poultry feed per 100 kg are 24 kg gold snail, 40 kg corn flour, 33 kg bran, 2 kg vitamin and 1 kg turmeric. The composition of these raw materials is assisted by students as officers in the field.

The fourth stage is training for animal feed production machine operators, namely training to operate production machines, preventive maintenance training, and trouble shooting training in the event of a breakdown. The training carried out is to make the operator able to operate the animal feed pellet production machine directly, how to carry out machine maintenance and repair in case of damage. The training is carried out in theory and practice in the field, this activity will be carried out by all implementing teams, operators are assisted by students as officers in the field.

By making an animal feed pellet production machine with a production capacity of 80 kg/hour by utilizing raw material sources for feed production from local natural resources, it is expected to meet the needs of fish and poultry farmers in Kaur Regency. With the target sales price of animal feed from the industry to be made, for fish feed Rp. 4250/kg and poultry feed Rp. 4500/kg much cheaper than the price of feed on the market. Thanks to DRTPM, Director General of Higher Education, Kemendikbudristek for funding the Kosabangsa Pilot Project in 2022
