Urban Design & Development with the consideration that globally built environmental issues that lead to the symptoms of the world are currently experiencing 2 tendencies of urbanization in parallel, namely:
(a) most of the built environment is increasingly becoming ‘urban’ and;
(b) urban spaces are becoming denser due to population growth. It is predicted that by 2050 about 70% of the world’s population will settle in urban areas. The process of rapid compaction of cities causes problems of reduced land / green areas, high levels of occupancy density, traffic congestion, air pollution, provision of housing for urban residents, expensive development of urban infrastructure and degradation of the quality of urban space. Cities and housing will always be important issues that require serious attention, at this time and in the future.
