Designing A Resort Hotel In The Suban Hot Springs Tourist Area Of Rejang Lebong Regency With A Neo-Vernacular Architectural Approach

Activities in the tourism sector are activities that can improve and help development and development efforts and contribute to the income of both the community and the government in an area in Indonesia, so it really needs to be developed and managed.

Bengkulu itself has many natural tourist areas, both cities, and areas scattered both in the mountains and on its beaches. The Curup area, Rejang Regency has many natural attractions with enormous potential to be utilized and managed. Due to the lack of accommodation facilities such as places to stay and recreation in tourist Kawasan activities, it is necessary to have accommodation facilities such as Resort Hotels that respond to the environment and sustainable surrounding culture so that they can introduce the existing culture and natural tourism.

With Neo-Vernacular Architecture elevates the locality of both local architecture and the local culture of eastern curup. By and continuing to preserve nature by making more selling points because it is an advantage that cannot be obtained in other areas is something that can be a tourist attraction. Embodying the shape of a house made by a rejang person (Umeak Potong Jang) into the shape of a building from a stilt house, the shape of the roof, and the existing space configuration of public, private, and service. Use local and renewable materials such as wood, bamboo, WPC, and reeds of synthesis can be recycled.

The placement of time-based zoning to the site with an analysis process as a form of response to the surrounding environment and also zoning configuration is an implementation of the inner space configuration in the Umeak Potong Jang house which is local wisdom. Plans, window door openings, and building orientations that optimize the view of the scenery with contrasting and soothing colors such as yellow and brown wood. Ornaments of Rejang flora and fauna such as mortar shoots, and nyait pucuak which are applied in the form of sun shading. The kaganga letters in the form of sculptures, lights, and shading screens on the tread which has the meaning of explaining this is the land of Rejang. As well as the landscape using aspects of Green Building, a Sustainable Site with clean water utilities that utilize sources of water on the site, and reuse of dirty water waste products both gray water and black water. The use of solar panels as an additional source of energy, the use of contours as an advantage of the site to include views with experience when inside the site, and alternative construction technologies such as composite structures using steel and concrete combined with other simple and renewable structures at the Resort Hotel that supports the concept of Neo-Vernacular Architecture that responds to the environment, sustainability, technological advances, regional localities,  human beings, all of them are combined and developed into something more Modern, thus creating a new design that retains local elements that are acceptable to everyone.

It is also expected to increase the interest of tourists to come to the Curup area for vacation and tourism and enjoy the beauty of nature and culture with different nuances. Application of the Neo-Vernacular Architectural Concept that combines the physical and non-physical buildings, as well as the relationship between buildings and nature, which considers future conditions with a response to the surrounding environment, both climate and natural advantages and attractions. Implementing the Vernacular Architectural form of Rejang Lebong, from the shape of the roof, the mass of the building, the inner space, the sheath, ornament, and culture in the final design. To create a new design that responds to the environment and the surrounding culture that is sustainable and able to facilitate adequate accommodation, which can increase the interest of domestic and foreign tourists to come to the curup area for vacation and travel to enjoy the beauty of nature and culture so that the pariwsiata sector can develop and contribute to economic development.
