Architecture Study Program at the University of Bengkulu Achieves International Accreditation from ACQUIN: A Step Towards Global Quality Standards
The Architecture Study Program offered by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bengkulu has successfully attained international accreditation from ACQUIN (The Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute), an institution registered with EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education). ACQUIN is renowned as an international-level accreditation, certification, and quality assurance body, recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, as stated in Ministerial Decree Number 83/P/2020 dated January 24, 2020.

As per the information published on ACQUIN’s official website, the primary objective of this institution is to provide accreditation for undergraduate and master’s programs across various disciplines and types of universities. This aims to ensure that these degree programs maintain high quality, create transparency within the higher education market, enhance the attractiveness of universities to international students, and promote the comparison of academic degrees. ACQUIN’s membership includes more than 150 universities from different countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the United States, Liechtenstein, Egypt, Mongolia, and Lebanon. Additionally, the institution collaborates with professional associations and specialists in the field of science.
This initiative is part of the University of Bengkulu’s (UNIB) efforts to enhance the quality of education, research, and community service to establish a superior academic environment. Out of a total of 81 study programs spread across eight faculties at UNIB, a total of 69 programs at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels will undergo international accreditation processes through ACQUIN. Furthermore, the accreditation process also involves other units within UNIB, including bureaus, institutions, and Technical Implementation Units (UPT).
The endeavors undertaken by UNIB have yielded positive results following a thorough process of International Accreditation Visitation by the ACQUIN team. The outcome reveals that six Study Programs within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bengkulu have met the international accreditation standards set by ACQUIN, with the architecture program being one of them.
ACQUIN’s accreditation process is a formal evaluation and official recognition of the quality of study programs at higher education institutions. ACQUIN, functioning as a quality assurance institution for higher education based in Germany and registered with EQAR, plays a crucial role in ensuring that university study programs adhere to internationally recognized quality standards.
