The diversity of customs and culture is one of the tourist attractions of Bengkulu City. The diversity of customs and cultures cannot be separated from the influence of art that develops in their environment. For art activities facilities are still lacking, therefore an art performance building is needed, which is a place that is used as a place for performance, dance, music, or theater. As well as a place to introduce and preserve and develop the art of the city of Bengkulu.

In the process of designing this performing arts building, some considerations, are the acoustics of the space, lighting, and ornaments in the building. In this day and age, the concept of traditional buildings is fading due to the rapid development of the times and technology, so traditional buildings are considered ancient. To answer this problem is to use the Neo-Vernacular Architecture approach.

Neo Vernacular architecture is a blend of Modern and traditional architecture or local culture, namely the Bengkulu traditional house. It is expected to present cultural elements in Bengkulu City through ornaments, shapes, or displays inside and outside the art performance building. The relationship between this architectural work is a concept that can support the planning and design of this art performance building. This concept is also an effort to maintain elements of local culture in Bengkulu City but there is still a modern impression. Art performance buildings with a Neo Vernacular architectural approach can accommodate performing arts such as Dance, Music, and Dramatic Arts. This art will be facilitated by the existence of a performance building for the performing arts.
