University of Bengkulu (UNIB) was established based on the decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 1982 and was inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Daud Yusuf. At the same time, the first UNIB Rector, Prof. Ir. Soenjoto Sumodihardjo (UGM) was appointed for the 1982-1986 term. Dr. Ir. Soekotjo (UGM), who previously served as Assistant Director I, led UNIB for the period 1986-1990. For the period 1990-1995 Dr.Ir. Nitza Arbi (UNAND) was entrusted with leading UNIB. From 1995 to 2005 the position of Rector of UNIB was held by Prof. Dr. H  Zulkifli Husin, S.E,M.Sc. (UNSYIAH). From 2005 to 2013 the Rector of UNIB was held by Prof.Ir. Zainal Muktamar, Msc., Ph.D. On October 4, 2013, Dr. Ridwan Nurazi, S.E., M.Sc. was inaugurated as rector of Bengkulu University until now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
